NOTE: Adjournment is still scheduled for Friday 05/13. Both chambers will now meet on Mondays. Anticipate some late-night debates as the budget is considered by the Senate and then conference committee with the House.
Senate Appropriations included an additional $60,000 (Thank you Sen. Tim Ashe) to the Agency of Education budget that is intended to replace the funding withdrawn via the Federal Department of Education under Secretary Betsy DeVos. We will need to watch closely to ensure these monies remain in the budget. Please stay tuned for updates or if letters of support are needed. The Scott administration has supported this budget addition.
